10 Types Of Crane You Should Know About!

Nowadays, Machinery is being extensively used.
It has harnessed the forces of nature in the service of man. Machinery has increased productivity, production and income, thereby leading to a rapid economic growth.
Tedious task of lifting heavy material can be easily done by simply pressing a knob. A crane can lift loads which man never can. A Crane is a type of machine used to lift & lower materials. It is mainly used for lifting heavy things and transporting them. There are different types of cranes namely; Farana, Hydra, Crawler, Tower, telescopic, Rough Terrain, Overhead, Hydraulic carry deck and Truck Mounted.
Let's have a look at the following cranes in detail…

Farana Crane- A Farana is a ‘pick and carry’ crane which is similar to a mobile crane designed to travel on public road. As the ultimate “taxi” crane, farana are versatile & multi purpose allowing use in workshops, plant sites, mines. These cranes are designed  to lift  loads &  carry it to its destination. Their high road speed gets them to the job-site quickly and their steering flexibility helps them to move in tight spaces. F-15 is the most popular pick and carry crane in the country today.

Hydra Crane- Hydra cranes are strong and most reliable machines in the equipment industry. These crane are put through different applications from loading-unloading to mining. Generally hydras have less capacity (9-14 tons)  compared to farana cranes.

Crawler Crane- Crawler crane is an equipment capable of lifting heavy loads and moving with it. Crawler cranes are usually assembled on the site and can be adjusted to specific requirements. Variable boom systems in crawler cranes extend their range of uses. This crane has the capability to work on every type of ground surface. The lifting capacity of the crane ranges from 30-3000 ton depending on the model.

TowerThe tower crane is among the highest Cranes in the world. The height of a Tower Crane can surpass the building that it contributes to built. tower cranes are seen on almost every major construction site throughout the world. These machines are built to lift heavy loads efficiently and safely. Tower cranes give the best combination of height and lifting capacity. It may also be used in the shipping or transportation industry to load and unload large freighters.

Telescopic- Telescopic cranes are used for both lifting and lowering materials and to move them horizontally. They transport goods and items in a flexible manner. Since telescopic cranes are further equipped with height adjustments, the problems related to height are completely eradicated. In terms of ports, telescopic cranes offer one of the best servicing possible. Telescopic cranes offer a very compact configuration, making them perfect for emergency or rescue jobs.

Rough Terrain Crane- Rough terrain cranes are also known as "RT" cranes or "off-road" cranes.
It is a multi-purpose-use crane that is uniquely designed to operate on off-road and rough applications and surfaces. All rough terrain cranes are powered by a single-engine mounted in the undercarriage. Over-sized tires, a short wheelbase, and crab steering all contribute to overall maneuverability. They are used in the construction of infrastructure, operation in chemical plants, civil and industrial construction, refineries, maintenance and handling of heavy machinery for quarries and mines, port services etc

Overhead Crane- An overhead crane, also called as a bridge crane, is a type of crane found in industrial area. It is a machine that lifts, lowers and moves a load horizontally. Overhead cranes have high lifting capacities for load movement. The lifting device, called a hoist is mounted on a trolley for horizontal movements. overhead cranes are manufactured in a number of configurations based on applications. Unlike mobile or construction cranes, overhead cranes are typically used for either manufacturing or maintenance applications.

Hydraulic Crane- A hydraulic crane is a type of heavy-duty equipment used for lifting and hoisting. Hydraulic cranes perform seemingly impossible tasks, lifting tons of objects with absolute ease. Each hydraulic crane consists of an enclosed operator's cab set atop a steel base. It includes an internal hydraulic system that allows the crane to lift heavier loads. Different hydraulic crane designs are used for different jobs. Those on tracks or wheels are best suited for construction activities, whereas stationary cranes are used in shipyards and warehouses. It is used to lift immensely heavy objects to assist with moving materials, heaving wrecks aside, or even wrecking structures.

Carry Deck Crane- Carry Deck Cranes are the most adaptable and ideal machines used for lifting material and moving in tight space. There are multiple sizes and capacities available for customization. These are compactly designed cranes used for indoor as well as outdoor job-sites and feature telescoping booms and a load deck for material handling. It has a 360 degree rotating boom situated in the center of the machine. A carry deck crane has a wide variety of uses. It's is used to transport materials, hoist loads on tightly confined spaces and can be easily moved to another location.

Truck Mounted Crane- Truck mounted cranes are loading-unloading machines mounted on a truck body. The truck carrier provides mobility for this type of crane. It consists of two parts: the carrier, often referred to as the Lower, and the lifting component which includes the boom, referred to as the Upper. These are usually single-engine machines and  are free to move in various directions as well as travel on highways.

The lifting capacity of this cranes is about 14.5 short tons to about 1,300 short tons. truck mounted cranes can be used for multiple work applications, such as electric line maintenance, construction, load handling etc.

Still wondering which crane is the right one for the job in hand? The above mentioned cranes have multiple uses and configurations on projects that range from residential and commercial through heavy industrial, infrastructure and marine construction.

We certainly haven’t included every type of crane on here, but it will surely give you some idea about the different applications of the various models out there.

Things you must know about heavy equipment!

"The road to success is Always under construction ."  A very important truth of life. Life is constantly changing and evolving. It's difficult to keep a hold on it. But a right decision at the right time can turn your, ‘work in progress’ to ‘good to go’. Technology plays a vital role in this. It is now a big part of our society & our foreseeable future. But, what is technology? Technology refers to the use of tools, machines, materials, techniques & sources of power to make  work easier & more productive. Gone are the days of stone age and here is the age of machines. If only there were cranes present, it wouldn't have taken such amount of time and effort to build the TajMahal or the great pyramid of Giza. Don't you think so? Heavy equipment's have changed the way we live. It has made our life stronger, better and long-lasting. Yet we are often caught up with the same question, whether to buy or rent heavy machinery

5 Top Most Heavy Equipment

Science has conquered time and space. Over the years man has come up with many inventions, one more innovative than other. The invention of machines is a boon to mankind. A machine is a device that makes our work easier, faster & more convenient. Right from waking up in the morning till going to bed at night, man continues to make use of some machine or the other, whether it be talking to someone on phone or going to the office. However, inventions of equipment's used in Earth moving, construction & material handling have managed to move the earth beneath our feet. There are two kinds of heavy equipment ; simple and complex. Today let's learn about complex equipment's such as; excavators, backhoe loaders, wheel loaders, cranes & forklifts.  1)       Excavators - Excavators are large construction equipment that are used to dig dirt and lift heavy material. The most common uses of an excavator are: ●         Digging ●        Material Handling ●
